OUR STORY

 

Belle began because of:

1. Our Founder's story of self-esteem.

2. The State of Girlhood today: image-saturated, pixilated perfection and unrealistic beauty standards.

3. The Need: schools, churches and youth leaders are realising the need for girls to know their worth and wanting to meet that.

Belle is a project I started in 2015 because of my heart for teenage girls. Belle runs workshops in Primary and Secondary Schools and youth groups to help girls realise their true value, beauty and purpose in a world so pre-occupied with social media and self-image.

I started Belle because of my own journey of self-image and confidence. I realised that the lies I believed about myself were common amongst most girls. The rise of social media (especially Instagram) and our image-saturated society is distorting the view girls have of themselves (and I had of myself!) My heart broke for these girls. Belle challenges beauty standards, investigates insecurities and inspires aspiration.
